Squirrels are one of the most common complaints we deal with. They are rodents that have adapted to the urban life very well. Squirrels will commonly chew through siding and live in wall cavities, tear into soffits and get into the attic, chew through vents and can sometimes chew wiring. Gray squirrels are more likely to invade homes in the Central Missouri Area, although in certain areas the larger red squirrel will live in structures as well. Squirrels generally have spring litters that are born in March or early April, depending on weather. They may have another litter in early fall, depending on the weather. It is not uncommon to catch multiple squirrels out of the same hole in a structure.
